Advantages and Differences Between Motor Types

🔹 Hub Motors (Wheel Motors)

Simple to install, quiet, and affordable.
They’re ideal for city, trekking, and MTB bikes used for everyday riding, as they require very little maintenance.
Hub motors deliver smooth and consistent power, though they are slightly less efficient on steep climbs.

🔹 Mid-drive Motors

Positioned in the center of the bike, near the pedals, these motors use the bicycle’s drivetrain for optimal power transfer.
They offer better weight distribution, higher efficiency, and more torque, making them perfect for mountain (MTB) and trekking e-bikes that are often used on hilly terrain.
They are more complex and costly to install but provide a stronger climbing power.
